NH3 gTr 577A/400V/400kVA fuse link is a protective element, primarily dedicated to protecting transformers. Its design and operating characteristics provide effective protection against the effects of short circuits and overloads, minimizing the risk of damage and downtime in the installation. Designed for operation in alternating current (AC) circuits with a rated voltage of 400V, and its rated current is 577A.

Characteristics and application

The fuse link with gTr characteristics (also known as transformer) is specifically designed to protect transformers. This means that its operating time is adapted to the specifics of transformer loads – it allows for short-term overloads resulting from the starting of motors or other receivers, while reacting quickly to serious short circuits. The short-circuit switching capacity reaches 100 kA, which guarantees safety even in the event of high short-circuit currents. A combined indicator (double) facilitates visual identification of a blown fuse, which speeds up the location and removal of failures.

Construction and user features

The construction of the fuse ensures reliable operation and durability. It is worth paying attention to a few key parameters:

• Total Joule integral of switching: 3,900,000 A²s – informs about the energy absorbed during the switching of a short circuit, which indicates the ability of the fuse to withstand high current surges.
• Pre-arc Joule integral: 940,000 A²s – determines the energy released during the formation of an electric arc, important for assessing durability and resistance to damage.
• Power loss: 36.5 W – indicates the amount of energy lost during the flow of current through the fuse, which affects the energy efficiency of the installation.

The lack of metal insulated grips (IMGL) simplifies the assembly and disassembly of the fuse, and also minimizes the risk of incorrect connection. The weight of a single fuse is 0.923 kg, and the basic packaging contains 3 pieces with a total weight of 2.775 kg. The transport packaging holds 12 pieces (weight 11.65 kg), and as many as 624 pieces will fit on a pallet.
