VVC3 12kV/40A fuse links are a proven protective element in medium voltage installations. Designed to protect electrical equipment – cables, transformers, motors and capacitor banks – from the effects of short circuits and overloads. The construction based on a high-strength ceramic tube and a silver fuse element guarantees reliable operation in demanding conditions.

Functionality and application

These fuse links are characterized by a high short-circuit breaking capacity, reaching 63 kA, which ensures effective protection of the installation. The rated current of 40A at 12kV makes them an ideal solution for various applications in medium voltage networks. In addition, the striker with a force of 50N indicates the operation of the fuse link and enables the activation of the release mechanism of fuse disconnectors. This makes diagnostics and replacement of damaged elements simple and effective.

Construction and characteristic features

VVC3 fuse links are distinguished by a solid construction and attention to detail. The galvanized contact and the cap made of electrolytic copper coated with nickel (Ni) ensure a reliable electrical connection and long-term operation. A reliable sealing system protects against moisture, and the improved contact cap facilitates the replacement of the fuse link. The cold resistance is 215 mΩ, and the power loss is 48W at the rated current. The minimum breaking current is 140A. The minimum I²t value is 3200 A²s, and the maximum I²t max is 27000 A²s. The dimensions of the fuse link are 292 mm in length and 53 mm in diameter, and its weight is approximately 1.7 kg.
