Fuse links – protection of installations and devices
Fuse links, also known as knife fuses, are a key element protecting electrical installations from the effects of overloads and short circuits. They are indispensable both in industrial applications and in public buildings. This model, with a rated current of 80A and a voltage of 500V AC, is designed to react quickly in the event of a failure, minimizing the risk of damage and downtime.
Characteristics and application
NH1/WT-1 gF 80A/500V fuse link is an element from the NH1 gF series, characterized by a fast tripping characteristic (gF). This means that it reacts very quickly to sudden current increases, which is particularly important when protecting sensitive electronic devices or circuits with low impedance. It is intended for use in fuse holders with an insulating handle, in accordance with PN-93/E-06160, PN, IEC-269 and VDE 0636 standards. This ensures compatibility and safety of use.
Construction and additional functions
The construction of the fuse link is based on a solid body made of steatite – a material with high thermal and mechanical resistance. Silver-plated knife contacts guarantee low transition resistance and minimize power losses. In addition, the fuse link is equipped with a dual operating indicator (KOMBI), which facilitates quick identification of a blown fuse. The indicator consists of a springy plate on the top cover and a red eyelet located in the front of the ceramic body – after the fuse link operates, the plate rises and the red color disappears from the eyelet. This system provides a visual certainty of the fuse link status without the need for disassembly.
