Characteristics and Application

Characteristic C means that the circuit breaker reacts with a certain delay to short-term current surges – which is particularly important for devices with electric motors or other loads generating high starting currents. This minimizes the risk of unnecessary circuit disconnection during normal operation. The rated short-circuit breaking capacity of 15kA at 230V and 400V provides effective protection in the event of serious failures.

Construction and Mounting

The construction of the ETIMAT 10 circuit breaker has been designed for easy mounting and use. A width of 1.5 modules allows for efficient use of space in the distribution board. The ability to connect wires with a cross-section from 2.5 mm² to 50 mm² provides flexibility in choosing the appropriate cables. Additionally, the circuit breaker has an IP20 degree of protection, which means protection against finger contact and against the ingress of solid objects larger than 12.5 mm – a standard for devices mounted inside distribution boards. The ability to seal the lever in the "On" and "Off" positions increases safety and prevents accidental changes to the settings.

Additional functionalities, such as the possibility of mounting auxiliary contacts (PSM ETIMAT 80/125) or an overcurrent release (DA ETIMAT 80/125 110-415V), allow the circuit breaker to be adapted to specific installation needs. The power supply can be realized from the top or from the bottom, and the possibility of double connection of the insulated pin busbar facilitates mounting and connection of wires. The contact position indicator allows for quick visual control of the circuit breaker status.
