Characteristics and application
This two-pole circuit breaker with a rated current of 10A and a B characteristic is perfect for circuits with moderate starting current, such as lighting or electrical outlets. The B characteristic means that the circuit breaker reacts quickly to overvoltage, but is more tolerant to short-term current surges than models with C or D characteristics – which is important when connecting devices with heating elements or motors. The rated short-circuit breaking capacity of 10kA (at 230V and 400V) ensures effective disconnection of the circuit in the event of a failure.
Construction and mounting
The ETIMAT 10 circuit breaker takes up 2 modules on a TH35 rail, which facilitates its installation in electrical distribution boards. The possibility of connecting solid and stranded wires with a cross-section from 1 to 25 mm² provides flexibility when selecting power cables. The degree of protection IP20 protects against accidental contact, but does not provide protection against water ingress – therefore, the circuit breaker should be mounted in dry and well-ventilated places. A wide range of operating temperatures (-25°C to +55°C) allows it to be used in various environmental conditions.
Safety and compliance with standards
The ETIMAT 10 circuit breaker has been designed and manufactured in accordance with applicable standards IEC/EN 60898-1 and IEC 60947-2, which guarantees its safety and reliability. It has energy limitation class 3 and surge category III, which means it is adapted to work in installations with an increased risk of overvoltage. The rated insulation voltage Ui is 500V, and the rated impulse withstand voltage Uimp is 6kV – providing adequate protection against damage caused by voltage.
