A residual current circuit breaker (RCCB) is a key element of every modern electrical installation, ensuring safety and protection against the effects of electric shock. The EFI-4 AC 80/0.1 model is a four-pole device designed to protect circuits against leakage and short-circuit currents, minimizing the risk of hazards to life and property. It will be suitable for both home installations and commercial and industrial facilities.

Functionality and application

The RCCB protects against electric shock, both in the case of direct and indirect contact with live parts. It also protects devices from damage caused by overload or short circuit. It is compatible with TN-S, TN-C-S, TT and IT networks, making it a universal solution for different types of installations. The rated current of 80A allows for protection of circuits with higher power consumption. AC sensitivity means that the circuit breaker reacts to alternating differential currents, which is standard in most home and industrial applications.

Construction and installation

The circuit breaker is mounted on a DIN rail, ensuring quick and easy installation. Compact dimensions (4 module width) allow for efficient use of space in the distribution board. The cross-section of the connected solid or stranded wire is 1…25 mm², allowing connection of wires of different thicknesses. The terminals are protected against accidental contact under voltage, increasing safety during installation and operation. The additional possibility of mounting accessories (auxiliary contacts, release devices) allows to expand the functionality of the device according to needs. The circuit breaker has a contact position indicator to facilitate identification of the device status (ON/OFF).

Technical parameters and safety

The circuit breaker is characterized by high resistance to environmental conditions - it can operate at ambient temperature from -25°C to 55°C. The rated differential current is 100A and the short-circuit strength (Icw) is 10kA, which guarantees reliable operation in the event of a failure. The degree of protection IP20 provides protection against finger contact and against the ingress of solid objects larger than 12.5 mm. This makes the device safe to use even in difficult working conditions.
