Residual Current Device (RCD) EFI-4 AC 80/0.3 is a key element of every safe electrical installation. Its task is to protect against electric shock, both in case of direct and indirect contact with live conductors. Additionally, it protects devices from damage caused by short circuits or leakage currents. Mounted on a DIN rail, it will work in both new installations and during the modernization of existing ones.

Functionality and application

This four-pole RCD with a rated current of 80A and AC sensitivity is designed for use in TN-S, TN-C-S, TT and IT networks. Its main goal is to ensure safety of use by quickly disconnecting the circuit in the event of a leakage current being detected. According to standards, RCDs with a differential current up to 300 mA are recommended for fire protection and protection against indirect contact. A value of 30 mA provides additional protection against direct contact. Thanks to this, the device finds wide application in houses, apartments, public buildings and industrial facilities.

Characteristics and parameters

The RCD is characterized by high resistance to environmental conditions - it can operate at temperatures from -25°C to 55°C. Its housing with a protection degree of IP20 provides basic protection against touching and ingress of solid objects. The possibility of connecting wires with a cross-section from 1 to 25 mm² (solid and stranded) facilitates installation and integration with the existing installation. Short-circuit strength at the level of 10 kA guarantees reliable operation even in the event of overloads. Additionally, the possibility of mounting additional accessories (auxiliary contacts, release devices) allows you to adapt the functionality of the RCD to the specific needs of a given installation. The clamp design allows the use of insulated busbars on both the upper and lower terminals, which facilitates assembly and ensures safety when working with the device.
