The DICE-1 surge limiter is a compact device designed to protect electrical circuits from the harmful effects of overvoltages. Its operation is based on the use of a diode, which effectively suppresses sudden voltage increases, protecting connected devices and the electrical installation from damage. This is particularly important in places exposed to network disturbances or electromagnetic induction.

DICE-1 finds application as a protective element in DC circuits, where the rated voltage can range from 12V to 600V. This limiter is classified as an interference suppression diode within the ETIM classification (EC000197).
