This class T2 surge protector is a key element in protecting electrical installations from the effects of atmospheric and switching surges. It provides protection in TN-S, IT, and TN networks, making it a universal solution for various applications. Its task is to minimize the risk of damage to sensitive electronic devices, such as RTV equipment, computers, or automation systems.

Construction and functionality

The ETITEC C T2 surge protector is designed for mounting on a TH-35 mm DIN rail, which facilitates its integration with existing electrical infrastructure. The compact size – only 2 modules – allows for efficient use of space in the distribution board. It uses MOV (Metal Oxide Varistor) technology to effectively suppress surges. It has an optical indicator signaling the operating status of the varistor – a red "window" informs about the need to replace the device after activation. Additionally, the presence of a remote signaling contact enables integration with monitoring and alarm systems, ensuring a quick response in the event of a failure.

Parameters and application

This surge protector is characterized by a rated AC voltage of 400 V and a maximum discharge current of 40 kA (8/20), which guarantees effective protection in the event of strong surge pulses. The rated discharge current is 20 kA, and the protection level is 2 kV. The ability to operate in different network configurations (TN, IT, TN-S) and a maximum wire cross-section of 35 mm² make it a versatile choice for both installers and end-users. Short-circuit strength at 25 kA further increases safety. It is intended for use in residential, commercial and industrial buildings as a second-level surge protection element (class C).
