The ETITEC M T2 PV 1100/20 Y surge arrester is a key element in protecting photovoltaic installations from the effects of lightning strikes and surges. It provides protection against damage to components, thereby minimizing the risk of downtime and costly repairs. It is a modular device designed for mounting on a TH-35 mm DIN rail, which facilitates its integration with existing infrastructure.

Design and application

This T2 class surge arrester is specifically designed for operation in DC photovoltaic systems. Its task is to dissipate excess energy generated by a surge, protecting connected devices such as inverters, solar panels and cabling. Thanks to the high DC continuous operating voltage (1100 V), it is compatible with most photovoltaic installations available on the market. The use of a DC network circuit (true) guarantees correct operation in configurations typical for PV installations.

Performance and parameters

This arrester is characterized by high efficiency. The rated peak discharge current of 20 kA provides effective protection even with strong surge pulses. The protection level of 3.8 kV minimizes the risk of damage to sensitive components of the installation. The ability to connect wires with a cross-section of up to 35 mm² (solid/stranded) and 25 mm² (flexible) provides flexibility during installation and adaptation to different installation needs. The device occupies 3 modules on the DIN rail, allowing for compact placement in the distribution box.
