This reliable staircase timer, model AS-221T, is designed to control lighting in places such as corridors, stairwells or utility rooms. Its main task is to keep the light on for a specified time after pressing the button, and then automatically turn it off. The disconnection warning function, implemented by gradually dimming the light, provides comfort and safety for users – giving them time to safely reach the switch.

Functionality and application

The AS-221T timer is an ideal solution for both installers and end users. Mounting on a DIN rail (2 module width) is quick and easy. The device works with 230V AC circuits and allows connection of a load up to 10A (1500W for bulbs). Thanks to the adjustable switch-off time (0.5 - 10 minutes), the timer's operation can be adapted to the specific needs of a given object. It is worth remembering that the device is not compatible with fluorescent lamps, compact fluorescent lamps and other light sources with electronic ballasts – traditional bulbs or LEDs should be used.

The AS-221T timer features an electronic disconnection warning function, which manifests as a gradual dimming of the light before it is completely switched off. This solution increases user comfort and improves safety. The device has one changeover contact and does not have an anti-blocking function – therefore, it is not recommended to block the off button (e.g. with a match), as this may cause the light to remain permanently on. It should also be noted the limitations regarding the contact current and potential problems when connecting too many backlit buttons, which may lead to incorrect operation of the timer. The use of a relay and triac in the actuator ensures reliable operation of the device in various working conditions (temperature from -25°C to 50°C). The IP40 protection class guarantees protection against solid objects larger than 1mm.
