Bistable, sequential relay, DIN rail mounted BIS-414
Bistable relay for lighting and other device control
The BIS-414 bistable relay is an ideal solution for controlling lighting or other devices from multiple points, using parallel-connected control buttons. Thanks to its design, it allows for sequential switching of circuits, which is particularly useful in "chandelier" systems. DIN TH-35 rail mounting ensures easy installation and integration with existing electrical infrastructure.
Functionality and application
The BIS-414 relay allows you to control two independent circuits. When the control button is pressed, the relay switches sequentially: turns on the first circuit, turns off the first and turns on the second, then turns on both circuits, and finally turns off both. Subsequent button presses repeat this sequence. Please note that after a power failure, the contact state is reset – i.e. returns to the off state. The device is designed to operate at 230V AC and has two changeover contacts (1NO/NC) and two normally open contacts (2NO).
Parameters and capabilities
The BIS-414 relay is characterized by a maximum switching capacity of 600W for incandescent bulbs, 300VA for fluorescent lamps and 200VA for fluorescent lamps with parallel compensation. The maximum AC-1 load current is 2 x 16A. The device consumes 0.7W of power and operates at temperatures from -25°C to +50°C. It is worth noting that the relay does not have a "memory" function of the contact state after a power failure. It can work with backlit buttons, but avoid connecting too many of them to avoid problems with the lights turning on spontaneously.
The relay operates at a supply voltage in the range of 165-265 V AC and a frequency of 50 Hz. Its maximum AC-1 load current is 2 x 16 A, and the maximum switching capacity for fluorescent lamps is 300 VA (or 200 VA with parallel compensation). The function of the relay is chandelier or sequential control, and mounting is on a DIN TH-35 rail. The device takes up a width of 1 module (18 mm).
Important notes for installers:
- Before installation, make sure that the supply voltage is compatible with the device specification.
- When connecting receivers with high starting current (e.g. LED fluorescent lamps), it is recommended to use an external switching element (e.g. a contactor).
- Remember that the relay does not have a memory function after a power failure – it always returns to the off state.
- When connecting backlit buttons, exercise caution and avoid connecting too many of them.
This relay is a solid and reliable solution for demanding electrical installations, providing convenient and efficient control of lighting and other electrical devices.
