CAN bus signal separator mH-SEP MH-SEP
CAN Bus Signal Separator – Protection and Reliability of Installations
The mH-SEP CAN bus signal separator is a device dedicated to extended building automation systems and installations connecting multiple objects. Its main task is to provide optical isolation of the communication line, which minimizes the risk of damage caused by potential differences or electromagnetic interference. This is a key solution for installers who want to guarantee stable and safe system operation.
Application and benefits
The device is primarily used in large installations where the number of modules is significant or when it is necessary to connect several buildings into a single network. Thanks to the use of full optical isolation, the mH-SEP separator effectively isolates individual segments of the CAN bus, preventing the spread of interference and failures. Additionally, built-in overvoltage protection and fast-blow fuses protect the bus against the effects of sudden voltage surges.
- Protection against damage: Optical isolation minimizes the impact of interference and overvoltage on the system.
- Operational stability: Ensures reliable operation even in extended installations.
- Safety: Built-in protection safeguards against the effects of power failures and overvoltages.
- Easy installation: DIN rail adapter facilitates quick and convenient installation in a distribution box. The device occupies 5 modules in width.
- Active device: Requires 24 VDC power supply from system power supplies, ensuring its proper functioning.
Construction and parameters
The mH-SEP separator has been designed with ease of integration with existing building automation systems in mind. Installation is done on a DIN rail adapter, and the compact dimensions (0.104m x 0.07m x 0.104m) allow it to be placed in a standard electrical distribution box. The device has one connection and is compatible with various bus systems – although it does not work directly with KNX, KNX RF, Funkbus or Powernet, it offers the possibility of integration with other systems designated as "Other". It should be remembered that the separator requires an external 24 VDC power supply for correct operation.
