Rainwater level control relay – reliable installation protection

This relay is designed to monitor rainwater levels, protecting against uncontrolled increases and potential flooding. The device is used in both domestic and industrial installations where automatic response to liquid level changes is essential. Thanks to its design and functionality, it provides effective protection for pumped tanks, wells and other places where rainwater is collected.

Functionality and application

The PZ-828-RC-WD relay is a single-pole rainwater level control relay. In a dry state, the relay contact remains in the 7-4 position. When the probe is flooded with liquid (short circuit of the probe electrodes), the contact switches to the 7-8 position. When the liquid level drops (probe electrodes open), the contact returns to the 7-4 position. This solution allows for automatic starting of drainage pumps or shutting off the water supply, ensuring safety and comfort. The device works with the PZ probe, which enables precise measurement of the water level. The probe terminals are isolated from the mains by a transformer, which increases safety.

Construction features and operating parameters

The relay is designed for mounting on a 35 mm rail and occupies only 2 modules (35 mm wide), making it easy to integrate with existing electrical infrastructure. The housing with IP20 protection provides basic protection against dust and moisture. The device operates in a wide temperature range, from -25°C to 50°C, allowing it to be used in various environmental conditions. The screw terminal connection with a cross-section of 4.0 mm² ensures secure and durable electrical connections with a tightening torque of 0.5 Nm. The device's power consumption is 1.1 W at a supply voltage of 230 V AC. The maximum load current is 16 A, and the contact configuration is 1 × NO/NC (normally open/normally closed). Adjustable sensitivity in the range of 1÷820 kΩ allows the device to be adapted to specific working conditions and the type of liquid being monitored. The output measurement voltage is 6V.
