Smart roller shutter and awning control with wind sensor STR-W
The STR-W wind force sensor is a reliable solution for automatic control of roller shutters and awnings, providing protection against damage caused by strong winds. The device monitors wind speed and, depending on the settings, automatically closes the roller shutters or retracts the awnings, minimizing the risk of damage. This is especially important in areas exposed to strong gusts, where manual response may be insufficient or impossible.
Two operating modes for full control
STR-W offers two operating modes, tailored to individual needs and preferences:
- Continuous mode: When the wind speed exceeds the set value (in the range of 30-80 km/h), the relay remains closed as long as the strong gusts persist. This provides effective protection of roller shutters and awnings throughout the duration of adverse weather conditions.
- Pulse mode: After exceeding the wind speed threshold (20-70 km/h), a single signal is sent to close the roller shutters. The user then has the option to reopen the roller shutters after the wind subsides. This mode is ideal for people who want more control over the system and do not necessarily want the roller shutters to be constantly closed.
Easy integration with existing systems
The STR-W sensor is designed to work with STR-3 and STR-4 roller shutter controllers from F&F. Combining these devices allows you to create a comprehensive automatic control system that increases comfort and ensures safety. The mounting is surface-mounted, and the connection is made using 2.5 mm² screw terminals. The device is powered by a voltage range of 100÷265 V AC/DC.
Additionally, the sensor has an IP65 protection class (wind vane) and IP20 (housing), which guarantees its reliable operation even in harsh weather conditions. The sensor dimensions are 67 mm x 50 mm x 26 mm, and the wind vane dimensions are Ø80×85W mm. The power consumption in standby mode is 0.2 W, and in operating mode 0.6 W.
