Time relay – versatile control in automation

The PCU-510-12V time relay is a reliable device designed for time-based control in a wide range of applications – from industrial automation to home installations, such as ventilation, heating, lighting or signaling systems. Its versatility results from the ability to configure it in several operating modes, allowing it to be adapted to the specific needs of the installation. Mounting on a 35mm rail facilitates integration with existing systems.

Functions and operating modes

The relay offers several operating modes, providing flexibility in control:

• Delayed dropout (A): After applying the supply voltage, the contacts switch over, and then the set time is measured. After the time expires, the contacts return to their initial position. Ideal for applications requiring maintaining a state for a certain time after switching on.
• Delayed pickup (B): Before and after applying the supply voltage, the contacts remain in their initial position, and then the time is measured. After the time expires, the contacts switch over. Useful where a delay in starting a device or circuit is required.
• Cyclic operation (C & D): The relay operates in cyclic mode, alternately switching the circuit on and off at set time intervals. Enables the creation of time sequences for various applications.

Additionally, the relay has an ON/OFF function, which allows for permanent switching on or off of the contacts after applying the supply voltage.

Technical parameters and construction

The PCU-510-12V relay is characterized by a supply voltage of 12V AC/DC and double-pole contacts (2 × NO/NC), which ensures the possibility of controlling various circuits. The maximum load current is 8A per contact, which guarantees safe operation with most standard loads. The operating status is indicated by LEDs – green (power supply) and red (contact status). The device is compact – it occupies only 1 module (18 mm) – which facilitates mounting in tight spaces. Screw terminals with a cross-section of 2.5 mm² ensure reliable electrical connections, and a tightening torque of 0.4 Nm guarantees connection stability. A wide time adjustment range (0.1 s ÷ 576 hours) allows for precise adjustment of the relay's operation to specific application needs. The degree of protection IP20 provides protection against touch and dust.
