The DRO-11 microwave presence sensor is a reliable solution for automating indoor lighting. It utilizes microwave technology, operating on the radar principle, which allows for precise detection of even minimal movements – from chest movements to blinking. This keeps the light on as long as someone is in the sensor's detection area and then automatically turns off after a set time. This is not only comfort but also energy saving.

The DRO-11 sensor also has a built-in brightness sensor (lux), which prevents unnecessary lighting during the day or with sufficient external lighting. The brightness sensor activation level can be easily adjusted to suit individual needs and conditions in the room. This avoids wasting energy on unnecessary lighting.

Functionality and installation

DRO-11 is a recessed sensor, meaning it is discreet and inconspicuous after installation. Its compact dimensions (Ø76 mm x 67 mm) and mounting hole (Ø63-66 mm) allow for easy installation in various types of ceilings. Screw terminals 2.5 mm² provide a safe and durable connection to the electrical installation (tightening torque 0.4 Nm). The sensor operates in a supply voltage range of 110-240 V AC and can handle a load of up to 5 A AC-1.

The detection range is up to 3 meters, and at a distance of 3-4.5 meters it works like a classic motion sensor. The detection field covers a full 360°, providing comprehensive space monitoring. The mounting height should be between 2.0 and 4.0 m for optimal performance. The sensor's own power consumption is only 0.9 W – minimal impact on energy consumption.

Safety and technical parameters

The microwave radiation emitted by the DRO-11 sensor is very low (below 0.2 mW) and completely safe for humans and animals – much lower than the radiation emitted by a microwave oven or mobile phone. The sensor meets safety standards and has an IP20 protection class, which means protection against touching with a finger and solid objects larger than 12.5 mm. Designed to operate at temperatures from -25°C to +50°C. The receiver switch-on time adjustment allows setting a delay from 10 seconds to 12 minutes (10±3 s ÷ 12±1 min.). Motion detection covers speeds from 0.6 to 1.5 m/s.
