The VPC XXL DN1120-1170MM flexible coupling is an advanced solution for connecting large-diameter sewage pipes. The product enables a secure and leak-proof connection of pipes made from various materials - from cast iron and stoneware to glass-fiber reinforced plastics.

High-quality construction and materials

At the heart of the system is an adjustable sealing collar made of EPDM elastomeric rubber according to the DIN EN 681-1 WC/60 standard, which ensures long-term leak-tightness of the connection. The centering basket made of high-impact plastic is characterized by temperature resistance and structural stability.

Two V4A stainless steel clamping bands (material no. 1.4404) serve as the fastening element - this steel belongs to grades that are particularly resistant to corrosion and acids. The oil-resistant version utilizes an NBR (nitrile rubber) sealing sleeve, which provides resistance to oils and gasoline, as well as special resistance to aggressive substances contained in sewage and soil.

The design utilizes a double sealing profile and a cylindrical contact surface, which guarantees a maximum contact area between the elements. The double-sided protrusion ensures secure guidance of the clamping bands during installation.

Technical parameters and application possibilities

The VPC XXL DN1120 model supports an outer diameter range of 1120-1170 mm with a maximum reduction of 50 mm. The diameter reduction process occurs uniformly around the entire circumference thanks to the articulated middle part, which allows for separate reduction to be performed on each side of the coupling.

The system enables bilateral, stepless adjustment while simultaneously ensuring reliable transfer of shear loads. The positioning basket and sealing sleeve maintain a neutral position relative to each other, which prevents the rubber from sliding or wrinkling during the adjustment of different outer diameters.

The coupling meets the requirements of the DIN EN 1610 standard regarding leak-tightness and holds DIBt Z-42.5-450 approval for the nominal range of 100-2000 mm. The materials are resistant to the effects of saline seawater, which expands the application possibilities to coastal installations.

Practical applications in sewage infrastructure

VPC XXL DN1120 finds particularly wide use in the modernization of existing sewage networks, where there is often a need to connect pipes of the same nominal diameter but different external constructions - e.g., transitioning between corrugated and smooth-walled pipes or between different types of materials.

The system eliminates the need for additional compensating rings when covering large diameter ranges - one solution replaces several traditional components.

It is particularly effective for sewage network renovation works. It is also suitable for the construction of new underground infrastructure sections in transport and industrial construction.

Installation is possible even in hard-to-reach places thanks to the compact design of the elements and the fastening system that allows for precise positioning before the final tightening of the clamping bands.
