VPC XXL Flexible Coupling DN1170-1220MM

The VPC XXL DN1170-1220MM flexible coupling is an advanced solution for connecting large-diameter sewage pipes with external diameters ranging from 1170 to 1220 mm. The product enables a secure and leak-proof connection of pipes made from various materials – cast iron, polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), PVC-U, vitrified clay, concrete, and glass-reinforced plastic (GRP).

High-quality construction and materials

The coupling consists of three main components forming a cohesive assembly unit. An adjustable sealing flange made of ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) rubber according to the PN-EN 681-1 WC/60 standard ensures reliable sealing thanks to its double sealing profile. The EPDM material is characterized by high resistance to thermal aging and the action of aggressive substances contained in sewage.

A self-centering plastic centering basket with high impact strength and crack resistance allows for precise positioning of the connected elements. Its tapered, deformable middle part, along with band guide grooves, ensures centric and stepless diameter reduction during cylindrical material alignment.

Two stainless steel clamping bands form a fastening system that allows for bilateral, separate, and smooth diameter adjustment. The standard version uses V2A steel (1.4301), while the special V4A steel version (1.4404) provides additional resistance to oils and gasoline, as well as exceptional resistance to aggressive substances in the soil.

Advanced technical parameters and functionality

The VPC XXL coupling design allows for a maximum reduction of up to 50 mm, with the reduction process occurring uniformly around the entire circumference of each side separately. The articulated middle part allows for independent reduction on each side of the coupling, guaranteeing a perfect fit even with significant differences in external dimensions.

A large cylindrical contact surface with a minimum width of 60 mm on each side ensures even distribution of clamping forces during installation and connection stability during operation. The multiple double sealing profile with a width of 380 mm (insertion depth of 190 mm per side) forms the basis for a professional, leak-proof, and secure pipe connection.

The coupling features a bilateral band guide channel, which ensures secure guidance during installation and eliminates the risk of shifting or folding the sealing sleeve rubber.

Regulatory compliance and operational advantages

The product meets the requirements of the DIN EN 1610 standard regarding sewage pipe installation and holds the DIBt Z-42.5-450 Technical Approval for nominal diameters from 100 to 2000 mm. The tightness of the connection has been confirmed by tests up to an internal water pressure of 2.5 bar by the MPA institute for all available diameters.

The design ensures stepless adjustment with reliable shear load transfer, which has been tested according to DIN 4060 and DIN EN 295 standards. The system allows for centric adjustment of the insertion depth via internal rubber limiters.

Due to the versatility of the design, it is possible to cover a large range of diameters without the need for additional compensation rings, which significantly simplifies warehouse logistics and reduces storage costs for installers.
