The VPC XXL DN1290-1340MM flexible coupling is an advanced solution for the professional connection of sewage pipes with large external diameters. The product belongs to the VPC XXL series by Funke, specifically designed for diameters from 1000 mm to 2800 mm.

High-quality construction and materials

The coupling consists of three main components forming a cohesive assembly unit. The adjustable sealing collar made of elastomeric rubber forms the heart of the sealing system. The standard version uses EPDM (ethylene propylene) according to PN-EN 681-1 WC/60, while the oil-resistant version utilizes NBR (nitrile butadiene) providing resistance to oils and gasoline.

The centrically self-aligning plastic positioning basket enables precise positioning of the connected elements. Its tapered middle part and strap guide grooves ensure stepless diameter adjustment with cylindrical alignment of the materials. The positioning basket maintains a neutral position relative to the sealing sleeve, eliminating the risk of rubber folding during installation.

Two stainless steel clamping bands allow for bilateral, separate, and smooth adjustment. In the standard version, V2A steel (1.4301) is used, while the special version utilizes V4A steel (1.4404) with increased resistance to corrosion and acids.

Material and dimensional versatility

The product was developed for connecting pipes made of various materials: cast iron, polypropylene (PP), polyethylene (PE), PVC-U, stoneware, concrete, and GRP (glass-reinforced plastic). The design allows for the effective connection of pipes with the same nominal diameter despite differences in external diameters resulting from different design types.

The external diameter range of 1290-1340 mm with a maximum reduction of 50 mm allows for flexible adaptation to specific installation requirements. The diameter reduction process occurs uniformly around the entire circumference while maintaining the centric position of the elements.

Advanced technical solutions

The multiple sealing profile with a width of 380 mm (insertion depth of 190 mm on each side) forms the foundation of a professional and leak-proof pipe connection. The cylindrical contact surface with a minimum width of 60 mm on each side guarantees uniform distribution of clamping forces.

The design utilizes a hybrid tensioner system that enables installation without the need for a tangent wrench for larger sizes. The tightening of the fastening rings is performed with a torque of 25 Nm, which should be controlled with a torque wrench.

The product meets the requirements of DIN 4060 and DIN EN 295 standards regarding resistance to shear forces during stepless bilateral adjustment. Tightness is confirmed by tests up to an internal pressure of 2.5 bar, as documented by MPA institute certificates for all sizes.

The VPC XXL coupling is manufactured to order upon precise specification of the pipe external diameter and the possibility of using leveling rings.
