The VPC XXL DN1420-1470MM flexible coupling is an advanced technical solution designed for connecting sewage pipes with large external diameters. The product enables the safe and effective connection of pipes with the same nominal diameter but made of various materials - even with significantly different external diameters resulting from different construction types.

System construction and components

The system consists of three main elements: an adjustable sealing collar made of elastomeric rubber, a self-centering plastic locating basket, and two stainless steel clamping bands. A key design feature is the possibility of reduction up to a maximum of ≤ 50 mm, where this process occurs uniformly around the entire circumference.

The articulated middle part allows for separate reduction to be performed on each side of the coupling. The positioning basket and the sealing sleeve are designed so that during diameter adjustment, the rubber is prevented from spreading or wrinkling. While tightening the fastening straps, the sealing sleeve adapts to various external pipe diameters.

Application and material compatibility

The coupling is intended for corrugated, cast iron, stoneware, and GRP (glass reinforced plastic) pipes, as well as other smooth-walled pipes. Compatibility includes cast iron, PP (polypropylene), PE (polyethylene), PVC (polyvinyl chloride), stoneware, concrete, and GRP (glass reinforced plastic).

The system is effective for both new installations and the renovation of existing sewage networks. It enables the seamless connection of various types of pipes without the need for additional intermediate elements or leveling rings.

Technical and operational advantages

The alloy steel used belongs to grades that are particularly resistant to corrosion and acids. The coupling is resistant to oils and gasoline and particularly resistant to aggressive substances contained in sewage and soil. Furthermore, the material is resistant to the effects of saline seawater.

The dual-sided flange ensures secure strap guidance, and the cylindrical contact surface in the sealing area guarantees a large contact area. The double sealing profile provides multiple seal redundancy. The locating body and the sealing sleeve maintain a neutral position relative to each other, preventing the rubber from wrinkling.

Installation is easy, fast, and secure, and the design is robust, compact, and reliable in application. The system connects pipes of different external diameters or from different materials and different types while maintaining bilateral, stepless adjustment with secure shear load transfer.
