Innovative solution for large diameters in sewerage

The VPC XXL DN1470-1520MM flexible coupling is an advanced tool for the secure connection of sewage pipes with large external diameters from 1470 to 1520mm. The product belongs to the VPC XXL series, which has been specially designed for nominal diameters from 1000mm to 2800mm, offering a maximum reduction of up to 50mm.

Construction and materials ensuring durability

The coupling's construction is based on three key elements: an adjustable sealing flange made of elastomeric rubber, a centrically self-aligning plastic centering basket, and two stainless steel clamping bands. The sealing sleeve is made of ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) according to the PN-EN 681-1 WC/60 standard, which guarantees reliable sealing in accordance with PN-EN 1610.

The standard version utilizes V2A (1.4301) stainless steel, while the special version made of V4A (1.4404) steel provides resistance to oils and gasoline, as well as particular resistance to aggressive substances contained in sewage and soil. The material is also resistant to the effects of saline seawater.

Material and dimensional versatility

The VPC XXL coupling enables the effective and secure connection of pipes made of various materials: cast iron, PP, PE, PVC, stoneware, concrete, GRP and others, whether smooth, corrugated, or ribbed. The design allows for the reduction of differences between external diameters resulting from different types of pipe construction - even with significantly differing dimensions.

The diameter reduction process occurs uniformly around the entire circumference while maintaining a cylindrical alignment of the materials. The articulated middle section allows for separate reduction to be performed on each side of the coupling. The centering basket and the sealing sleeve are designed so that the rubber does not slide apart or wrinkle during diameter adjustment.

Advanced technical solutions

The applied double sealing profile provides multiple layers of protection against leaks. The bilateral protrusion guarantees secure guidance of the fastening strap, and the cylindrical contact surface in the sealing area (60mm width on each side) ensures stable contact between the elements.

The hybrid tensioner system enables installation without the need for a torque wrench - the tensioning of the clamping rings is performed from a single position with a torque of 25 Nm. The tightness of the connection has been confirmed by tests up to a pressure of 2.5 bar by the MPA institute.

The coupling holds the DIBt Z-42.5-450 certificate for nominal diameters from 100 to 2000mm, confirming its high standards of quality and safety of use in professional sewerage applications.
