Propane-butane gas detector DEX-A15/N-Nstd – reliable explosion protection
The DEX-A15/N-Nstd gas detector is an advanced device designed for continuous monitoring of propane and butane concentrations in the air. It utilizes a semiconductor sensor, providing precise measurement and a quick response to hazards. The device signals exceeding two alarm thresholds, allowing for early detection of a dangerous situation and taking appropriate action. It is a key element of safety systems in places where there is a risk of explosion or fire.
Construction and application
The DEX-A15/N-Nstd detector is designed to operate in harsh industrial conditions. It has an aluminum housing that provides mechanical strength and corrosion resistance. The device is made in an explosion-proof design, allowing its use in areas threatened by the explosion of gases or flammable vapors (II 2G). Thanks to the 4-20mA interface, the detector can be easily integrated with various control and alarm systems, such as MDP-1.A/T, MDP-1 PLUS, MDD-1 or MDD-1/T modules. The wide range of applications includes, among others, gas storage facilities, boiler rooms, industrial kitchens, and areas of potential gas leakage.
Key features and benefits
- High selectivity: The semiconductor sensor provides a precise measurement of propane and butane concentration, minimizing the risk of false alarms.
- Durable construction: The aluminum housing protects the device from mechanical damage and external factors.
- Explosion-proof design: Allows for safe use of the detector in hazardous areas.
- Two-stage signaling: Two alarm thresholds allow for effective response to different levels of threat.
- 4-20mA interface: Provides easy integration with existing control and alarm systems.
- Calibration on request: The ability to adapt the detector parameters to specific user needs – a guarantee of measurement accuracy in specific working conditions.
- ATEX compliance: The detector meets the requirements of Directive 2014/34/EU, confirming its safety and reliability.
- Low energy consumption: Current consumption typically 90mA allows for efficient use of the system's energy resources.
Additional information: power supply voltage 9V DC (permissible fluctuations depending on the A4-C version), dimensions 103 x 105 x 54 mm and weight approximately 0.5 kg (for aluminum housing). The stability of the alarm thresholds is ±15% in the temperature range from 0°C to +40°C, and the accuracy of setting the thresholds is ±20% under calibration conditions. The calibration period recommended by the manufacturer is one year to maintain optimal measurement accuracy.
