Methane detector – reliable protection and control

This economical gas detector is designed for continuous monitoring of methane concentration in various spaces. The device signals exceeding permissible norms both visually and by transmitting information to the central supervisory module via the RS-485 standard. This is a key solution to ensure safety in places of potential explosion hazard or gas accumulation.

Functionality and application

The DG-14.EN/M detector finds application in a wide range of facilities, from industrial spaces to public utility buildings. It will be useful in:

Thanks to the replaceable sensor module, the detector is easy to maintain and calibrate, which translates to lower operating costs. The ability to remotely monitor and diagnose all detectors in the network provides full control over the system.

Construction and characteristic features

The detector is equipped with a semiconductor sensor, which is characterized by high selectivity in detecting methane. Communication is via the RS-485 port with the MODBUS RTU protocol, enabling integration with existing monitoring systems. The built-in microprocessor ensures stable operation of the device and temperature compensation of measurements. A robust, splash-proof housing (IP43) guarantees resistance to environmental conditions. Two cable glands facilitate serial connection of detectors, and dedicated configuration software „DETnet View” allows easy configuration of device settings. The detector has three alarm thresholds for gas concentration.

It is worth mentioning the possibility of calibrating the detector to order, which allows it to be adapted to the specific requirements of a given facility. The device is calibrated in its own GAZEX Calibration Laboratory operating in accordance with the PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard (PCA accreditation No. AP150).
