Gas detectors – protection and safety in one device
The WG-61.EGx/A-Nstd gas detector is a reliable device designed for continuous monitoring of the presence of HFC (Freon) refrigerants in enclosed spaces. Its task is to detect leaks of these substances, which, although non-toxic and non-flammable, negatively affect the ozone layer and indirectly threaten the environment and health. This detector finds application wherever refrigeration or air conditioning equipment is present – from boiler rooms, through cold storage rooms, to machine rooms.
Functionality and application
The device is based on a semiconductor sensor, which ensures high selectivity of measurement. In the event of exceeding defined alarm thresholds, the detector signals a hazard both optically (with LEDs) and acoustically (with a built-in siren). Additionally, it has three programmable NO contact outputs, allowing connection of external alarm devices or ventilation control systems. The ability to set output A3 as a failure signal or an additional set of contacts increases configuration flexibility. 12V DC power supply allows integration with various monitoring and automation systems.
The WG-61.EGx/A-Nstd detector is particularly useful in:
- rooms with air conditioning and refrigeration equipment;
- refrigeration machine rooms;
- cold storage rooms for food;
- boiler rooms;
- underground garages and parking lots – to control ventilation in the event of a refrigerant leak.
Construction and characteristic features
The detector is enclosed in a splash-proof housing (IP54), which ensures its durability and resistance to adverse environmental conditions. The built-in microprocessor is responsible for stable operation of the device, temperature compensation and reading of event history. The replaceable gas sensor facilitates maintenance and reduces operating costs. The device is factory calibrated in accordance with the PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025 standard by the accredited laboratory GAZEX (PCA No. AP150), which guarantees the accuracy of measurements. Optical signaling informs about the normal state (green), failure (yellow) and alarm (red LEDs A1, A2, A3). Additionally, the detector has a built-in acoustic siren with an intensity of 75dB/min. The predicted lifespan of the gas sensor is 10 years in clean air. Alarm thresholds for R410A (or R407C or R134a) are: A1 – 1000 ppm, A2 – 2000 ppm, A3 – 2500 ppm.
