Gas detector – reliable protection against refrigerant leaks

The WG-61.EGx/A24-Nstd gas detector is an autonomous device designed for continuous monitoring of refrigerant (HFC – Freon) concentrations in enclosed spaces. Its task is to quickly detect leaks, minimizing the risk of health and environmental hazards. The device is suitable for both professional installations and places where monitoring gas concentration is required by end-users.

Functionality and application

The WG-61.EGx detector uses a semiconductor sensor to precisely measure the gas concentration in the air. If defined alarm thresholds are exceeded, optical (LED) and acoustic (built-in or external siren) signaling are activated. This immediately signals a potential hazard, enabling a quick response and preventing more serious consequences. The device finds application in many areas, including:

• rooms with air conditioning, refrigeration and heat pump equipment;
• refrigeration machine rooms in agricultural farms;
• cold storage rooms for food storage;
• buildings with installations containing refrigerants.

Construction and characteristic features

The detector is enclosed in a splash-proof housing (IP54), ensuring reliable operation even in harsh environmental conditions. A built-in microprocessor controls all device functions, ensuring stable operation and temperature compensation. The replaceable gas sensor minimizes operating costs, and the ability to connect an external siren expands the functionality of the detector. 24V DC power supply ensures compatibility with various power systems. Three independent alarm thresholds allow you to adjust the detector's sensitivity to the specific needs of a given installation – factory settings are 1000 ppm, 2000 ppm and 2500 ppm for R410A (or R407C or R134a). Additionally, the device has a periodic calibration signal (recommended every 3 years). It is worth emphasizing that the detector is fully automatic and requires no adjustments after startup. It has three normally open (NO) contact outputs that can be used to control other devices or alarm systems.
