Refrigerant and Freon Detector – Reliable Installation Protection
The WG-61.EGx gas detector is an autonomous device designed for continuous monitoring of refrigerant (HFC) – including freons – in enclosed spaces. The device cyclically measures the gas concentration in the air, and when defined alarm thresholds are exceeded, it activates visual and audible signaling as well as control outputs. This ensures a quick response to potential leaks and minimizes the risk to health and the environment.
Application and Benefits
The WG-61.EGx detector finds wide application in places where there is a risk of refrigerant leakage, such as:
- rooms with air conditioning, refrigeration or heat pump equipment;
- refrigeration machine rooms in agricultural farms;
- cold storage rooms for storing food;
- rooms with ventilation and air conditioning systems.
Using the detector allows for:
- Early leak detection: Quick identification of the problem minimizes refrigerant loss and repair costs.
- Ensuring safety: Freons, although non-toxic and non-flammable, negatively affect the ozone layer, so their detection is crucial for protecting the environment and human health.
- Compliance with regulations: In many cases, detecting refrigerant leaks is required by applicable standards and regulations.
- Simple installation and operation: The device is easy to install and does not require complicated configuration. Sensor replacement is simple and economical.
Construction and Functionality
The WG-61.EGx detector has been designed with reliability and durability in mind. It has:
- Built-in microprocessor: Ensures stable operation, temperature compensation and automatic device operation.
- Replaceable gas sensor: Guarantees low operating costs and easy replacement in case of calibration or damage (estimated sensor life is 10 years).
- Three programmable alarm thresholds: Allow you to adjust the detector's sensitivity to specific working conditions (A1 - 1000 ppm, A2 - 2000 ppm, A3 - 2500 ppm for R410A/R407C/R134a).
- Three NO type contact outputs: Allow connection of external alarm devices or ventilation control systems.
- Built-in audible alarm: Informs about exceeding the alarm threshold (possibility of disabling or connecting an external 12V=/80mA siren).
- Splash-proof housing (IP54): Provides protection against moisture and dust.
- Possibility of setting output A3 as Failure/FAULT (NO or NC) or as A2 (second set of contacts)
The detector is powered by 230V AC voltage, which facilitates its integration with the existing electrical infrastructure. The device is factory calibrated in the GAZEX laboratory accredited according to PN-EN ISO/IEC 17025 (PCA No. AP150), which guarantees its accuracy and reliability of measurements.
