Alarm and measurement module – comprehensive protection and control of gas installations

The MDP-4.ZA24/M measurement alarm module is an advanced device designed to monitor and power gas detectors, both measurement (DEX/P, DG/P type) and threshold (DEX/F, DEX/A, DG/F, DG.EN). It finds application in gas detection systems and active gas installation safety systems, providing reliable protection and a quick response in the event of a hazard. The module allows connection of up to four detectors, offering flexibility in system configuration.

Functionality and capabilities

MDP-4.ZA24/M not only monitors the status of detectors but also provides advanced control and communication functions. Equipped with an RS-485 port, it enables integration with other building management systems (BMS) or data visualization on a PC using dedicated “MD16 View” software. Two outputs to the shut-off valve allow for quick and effective gas shut-off in the event of a hazard. Additionally, the module offers:

• Versatile compatibility: Cooperation with GAZEX detectors with 4-20mA output and threshold detectors with a contact output (using K-8P/K-16P concentrators).
• Detector status control: Monitoring the current drawn by the detectors and the status of the wired connection – automatic disconnection of the power supply to a faulty detector without affecting the others.
• Configurable alarm thresholds: Setting two alarm thresholds for measurement detectors and two for threshold detectors, as well as a fixed threshold for exceeding the measurement range.
• Advanced calculations: Calculating the weighted average of NDS and NDSCh for toxic gases.
• Flexible measurement units: Selection of displayed units: [%] range, [%LEL], [mA] or [ppm].
• Zoning: Assigning detectors to two zones (S1/S2) to control different devices depending on the alarm location.
• Operating modes: “QUIET OPERATION”, “SERVICE MODE”, “AUTO RESET” increase user comfort and facilitate system servicing.
• Alarm signaling: Displaying messages on the LCD, LED signaling and an acoustic siren.
• Event logging: Internal memory storing the last 1600 events with time and source.

The MDP-4.ZA24/M module is characterized by a solid construction and easy mounting thanks to removable, self-tightening connectors.
