Geberit Mapress stainless steel transition coupling with female thread: d=18mm, Rp=1/2'' 31803
Construction and materials
The Geberit Mapress Edelstahl transition coupling enables the connection of a pipe with an outer diameter of 18 mm to an internal thread of Rp 1/2'' (DN 15). It is made of CrNiMo 1.4401 (316) stainless steel - resistant to corrosion in demanding installation conditions.
The model has a simple shape, a total length of 37 mm, and an insertion depth of 2 mm. The pipe wall thickness at the press connection is 1 mm. The internal thread is manufactured according to the BSPT-Rp (ISO 7-1 / EN 10226-1) standard - cylindrical, leak-proof when sealed on the thread.
The press connection is made in the M profile, compatible with the pressing jaws of the Geberit Mapress system. A seal made of chlorobutadiene rubber (CIIR) is used as standard - a material with good chemical and temperature resistance, suitable for drinking water and heating installations. The element is characterized by high tensile strength, allowing for use in installations with increased pressure requirements.
The coupling is supplied with a transparent plastic protective cap - protecting the interior from contamination during transport and storage before installation.
Application and system compatibility
The coupling is used to create branches or outlet connections in installations:
- central heating - connections for boilers, radiators, manifolds,
- drinking water - connections for sanitary fittings and devices,
- industrial - technological installations based on steel pipes.
The Rp 1/2'' internal thread is one of the most popular sizes in sanitary and heating installations - it fits most valves, thermostatic heads, and device connections available on the European market.
The Geberit Mapress Edelstahl system includes a wide range of fittings (elbows, tees, couplings) in sizes from DN 12 to DN 54, allowing for the design of complete installations from a single source.
Installation and operational features
The press connection requires the use of a pressing tool with appropriate M profile jaws. Key principle: before pressing, the element remains non-leak-proof - only the pressing ensures a durable and tight connection.
Installation is fast and does not require threading or welding - this eliminates hot work in finished rooms. The internal thread allows for multiple unscrewing without loss of tightness on the threaded side.
316 stainless steel is suitable for both drinking water installations and central heating systems - it withstands contact with water of varying hardness and standard chemicals used in water treatment.
