The PE Silent-db20 pipe is an element of a drainage system designed to reduce noise in buildings. Made of high-density polyethylene (PE-S2), it is characterized by increased sound insulation due to its own weight and special material properties. This is an ideal solution for both new installations and modernization of existing ones, where acoustic comfort is a priority. The pipe is intended for the construction of drainage risers and branches, providing quiet and efficient wastewater drainage.

Construction and properties

The Silent-db20 pipe stands out from traditional drainage systems primarily due to its sound-dampening properties. The high density of the material reduces vibrations, and special sound-absorbing ribs in the fittings further minimize noise generation. The pipe wall thickness is 3.2 mm, which ensures its adequate mechanical strength and resistance to loads. The material is resistant to abrasion and UV radiation, guaranteeing long-term operation even in difficult conditions. The linear expansion coefficient is 0.17 mm/(m.K), which should be taken into account during installation, especially on longer sections.

Application and benefits

The Geberit Silent-db20 system is widely used in buildings with high requirements for acoustic protection – from residential buildings, through hotels, to offices and public utility buildings. The possibility of prefabrication of system elements allows for shorter installation time and reduced construction costs. Silent-db20 pipes can also be embedded in concrete layers, which provides greater freedom in the design of bathrooms and other sanitary rooms – however, this requires the use of welded connections. The water content in the pipe is 1.9 l/m, and the ring stiffness class is SN4, which ensures adequate resistance to external loads. The black color of the pipe further emphasizes its modern look and aesthetic appeal of the installation.
