Application in pressure installations

The 90° electrofusion elbow made of PE100 polyethylene is used for the construction of gas and water networks. The working pressure is 10 bar for gas and 16 bar for water - these are two different operating classes that must be distinguished when selecting fittings. The fitting is suitable for pressure installations where it is necessary to route the pipeline at a 90° angle. A Zeta value of 1.2 confirms low flow resistance through the elbow.

Construction and manufacturing

The PE100 material is a high-density polyethylene with increased resistance to internal pressure and the action of chemical agents contained in water or gas. The SDR11 dimension series denotes a ratio of outside diameter to wall thickness equal to 11 - the lower the SDR, the thicker the wall and the higher the pressure resistance.

Both ends are electrofusion sockets. The surface is in a raw state - without additional processing or protective coatings, which is standard for this type of connection. The fitting is single-piece, without valves, air vents, or drains - it is a pure directional elbow.

Welding process and barcode

Each fitting is equipped with a barcode label, which a scanner reads before starting the welding process. The welding machine automatically retrieves data regarding welding and cooling times - this eliminates the risk of error during manual parameter setting. This is a significant convenience for teams installing gas networks, where weld precision directly translates to the leak-tightness of the entire section.

Georg Fischer products are accepted by Polish Gas Distribution Company, which means compliance with the technical requirements of national gas network operators. Before purchasing, it is worth ensuring that the specification matches the pressure class required by the project - especially for gas connections, where standards are more restrictive than for water.

System compatibility

The elbow fits PE100 pipes with an outside diameter of 225 mm (DN200). For a correct connection, both elements must have the same material class (PE100) and the same dimension series (SDR11). Incompatibility of parameters can result in poor weld quality or uneven wall loading.

When designing the pipeline route, the minimum bending radius imposed by the manufacturer must be taken into account - a bend that is too sharp over a short section generates local stresses that accelerate material degradation under working pressure.
