This device functions as a main and maintenance disconnector – it allows safe disconnection of a circuit under load, which is critical during maintenance or in the event of faults. The locking mechanism prevents accidental re-energization, and the grey color of the operating element facilitates identification within the distribution board. It is neither an emergency stop switch nor a safety disconnector; its purpose is controlled disconnection, not immediate shutdown.

Cable terminals enable direct connection of conductors without the need for additional components, reducing installation time and minimizing the risk of improper connections. The device is designed for mounting inside distribution boards – it is not suitable for front-mounted or 4-hole panel mounting. An integrated motor operator is not included but can be added as an optional accessory, providing a solution for installers requiring remote control or automation capabilities.

For the installer: simplicity and flexibility

Note that the device has an IP40 protection rating – sufficient for indoor installation within a distribution board, but not protected against moisture or dust in outdoor environments. An insulation voltage of 800 V and impulse withstand voltage of 8 kV ensure safety even under overvoltage conditions. A short-circuit current rating of 5 kA indicates it can safely withstand short-term overloads typical in industrial or commercial installations.

An optional undervoltage release allows the addition of a function to disconnect upon voltage drop – useful in systems with renewable energy generation or requiring reliable power supply. The ability to mount in standard distribution boards (without additional frames) simplifies integration with existing infrastructure.

For the end user: stability and compliance

With a current rating of 400 A and voltage up to 690 V, the device handles loads typical for motors, heaters, or HVAC systems. A power rating of 407 kW at AC-23 means it can safely control large machines with high inrush currents – avoiding false tripping during startup. The frequency range of 50–60 Hz ensures compatibility with most European and global power networks.

The device does not include auxiliary contacts – integration with automation systems requires additional components. This design minimizes the number of potential failure points.
