Power disconnect with lockable position

This device is used for safe disconnection of circuits in low‑voltage installations — both during normal operation and maintenance. It has a fixed construction, mounted in distribution boards, and requires no additional mounting elements. Its manual mechanism with a gear (“knebel”) clearly indicates the state: upper position = EIN (on), lower = AUS (off).

The built‑in locking function allows the lever to be locked in both positions — without the need for an additional coupling or key. A simple hanging lock is sufficient, making it a quick and easy solution for the installer during renovation work.

Construction and safety

The housing has an IP40 protection rating on the front side — protecting against solid objects larger than 1 mm, but it is not designed for humid or outdoor conditions. The switch functions as an emergency switch and a maintenance disconnect — thus meeting safety requirements for line work. It is not classified as a safety disconnect (it does not meet the full IEC 60947‑3 (60947-3) criteria for that application).

Cable clamps provide a durable connection without the need for rails or adapters. Maximum insulation voltage is 800 V, and impulse voltage withstand is 8000 V, giving a safety margin for short circuits or transient over‑voltages.

Application and performance

The device is intended for AC circuits with voltages from 220 to 690 V and frequencies of 50–60 Hz. At 400 V it can safely carry a continuous current up to 630 A — corresponding to approximately 508 kW at AC-23. Under short‑circuit conditions it withstands a short‑time current of 7.6 kA, meaning it will not be damaged even in severe faults.

The possibility to add an optional motor drive or voltage trigger allows later system upgrades — e.g., for remote control or automatic disconnection on voltage drop.

The gray colour of the control element is standard for the Hager h3+ system, facilitating identification in the panel. Dimensions (185 × 260 × 150 mm) are compatible with typical distribution cabinets — no special openings or front mounting are required.
