Residual current device with overcurrent protection 4P 6kA C 10A/30mA A QC/QB ADM460QC
Professional electrical protection solution in a compact form
The ADM460QC residual current circuit breaker with overcurrent protection is an RCBO (Residual Current Breaker with Overcurrent protection) device that integrates the functions of a residual current breaker and an overcurrent breaker into a single modular unit. This allows installers to save space in the distribution board, while end users receive comprehensive protection against electric shock and installation overload.
Operating parameters and technical characteristics
The device operates at a rated current of 10A and provides Type A residual current protection with a 30mA sensitivity, making it ideal for protecting socket and lighting circuits in residential and commercial buildings. The C-type tripping characteristic allows for the trouble-free startup of loads with inrush currents, such as electric motors or transformers.
The rated short-circuit breaking capacity is 6kA, ensuring effective protection even during severe short circuits. The device is designed to operate in 230-400V AC networks at a frequency of 50Hz, with an insulation voltage Ui of 500V and impulse voltage resistance up to 4kV.
The operating temperature range of -25°C to +40°C enables installation in both heated and unheated rooms. The energy limitation class I²t = 3 guarantees safe operation during short circuits, minimizing the risk of installation damage.
Construction, mounting, and connection capabilities
The compact design occupies only 4 modules on a DIN rail, allowing for efficient space management within the distribution board. The device dimensions are 84mm height, 71mm width, and 70mm depth, and its weight does not strain the mounting rail.
The connection system utilizes:
- Top QuickConnect connection - enables fast tool-free installation and easy creation of distribution groups using phase busbars
- Bottom Biconnect connection - ensures a secure connection for single-core wires (1-25mm²) and multi-core wires (1-16mm²)
- The terminal tightening torque is standard at 2Nm, guaranteeing optimal electrical contact
The 360° mounting capability facilitates installation in hard-to-reach places, and the locking mechanism allows for safe operation and servicing.
Regulatory compliance and operating conditions
The circuit breaker meets the requirements of the EN/IEC 61009-1 standard, confirming its safety of use and compliance with European quality standards. The device has an IP20 protection class, protecting against contact with live parts and the ingress of solid objects larger than Ø12mm.
The cross-section of the connected wires is universal - it supports both single-core and multi-core wires across a wide range of cross-sections, eliminating the need for additional adapters or ferrules.
Total power loss at the rated current is only 9.70W, which minimizes the impact on the temperature inside the distribution board and improves the energy efficiency of the entire electrical installation.
