Chain guide cable – reliability in demanding conditions
This shielded chain cable HELUKABEL SHIPFLEX 512 is a solution designed for operation in harsh conditions, especially in marine and industrial applications. The cable is characterized by high flexibility, resistance to external factors, and compliance with safety standards. It is ideal where reliable power transmission is required in continuous motion.
Construction and properties
The cable is characterized by a solid construction, ensuring long-term and trouble-free operation. Made of copper stranded conductors class 6 (according to DIN VDE 0295), it provides good conductivity and flexibility. The cores are insulated with a special material, and their color scheme (black with white numbering) facilitates identification. The yellow-green protective conductor, present in configurations with three or more cores, provides additional safety. A screen made of tinned copper wires minimizes electromagnetic interference, which is crucial in sensitive applications. The polyurethane outer jacket (PUR) guarantees resistance to abrasion, oils, chemicals, and extreme temperatures.
The cable meets stringent safety standards regarding fire safety (DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2 / DIN EN 60332-1-2 / IEC 60332-1) and halogen-free properties (DIN VDE 0482 part 267 / DIN EN 50267-2-1 / IEC 60754-1), making it safe to use and environmentally friendly. Additionally, it is resistant to UV radiation and weather conditions.
Specification and application
The SHIPFLEX 512 cable has a core cross-section of 1.5 mm² (equivalent to AWG 16) and consists of 12 cores. Its outer diameter is approximately 13.8 mm. It is intended for use in chain guide systems, industrial robotics, construction machinery, and all types of mobile equipment exposed to intense movements and difficult environmental conditions. Thanks to its high resistance to oils and chemicals, it is ideal for use in the shipbuilding industry and offshore platforms. The use of a screen increases resistance to electromagnetic interference – remember to mount shielding clamps at the ends of the cable for optimal EMC protection.
