Cable for chain guides – reliability in demanding conditions
This shielded chain cable HELUKABEL SHIPFLEX 512 is a solution designed to work in harsh conditions, especially in applications requiring high flexibility and resistance to external factors. The cable is distinguished by its high quality and meets stringent standards, including UL Style 20234. It is ideal for use in chain guide systems, as well as in marine and industrial applications.
Construction and properties
The cable is characterized by a solid construction, ensuring long-lasting and trouble-free operation. Made of stranded copper conductors, class 6 (very flexible), insulated with a special material. The conductors are twisted in parallel, which ensures optimal length and facilitates installation. A screen made of tinned copper wires (approx. 85% coverage) effectively protects against electromagnetic interference. The outer jacket made of polyurethane (PUR) provides resistance to oils, UV radiation and low temperatures – down to -40°C. The whole is enclosed in a gray (RAL 7001) coating, which facilitates identification and integration with the environment.
- Mechanical strength: The cable construction has been optimized for operation in dynamic chain guide systems.
- Chemical resistance: The polyurethane outer jacket provides resistance to oils and lubricants, which is crucial in industrial environments.
- Safety: The cable is halogen-free, minimizing the risk of toxic gas formation in the event of a fire. Complies with DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2 and DIN EN 60332-1-2/IEC 60332-1 standards.
- EMC shielding: Effectively reduces electromagnetic interference, ensuring stable signal transmission.
- Wide temperature range: The cable retains its properties in the temperature range from -40°C to +80°C (flexible and stationary).
Technical parameters and application
The SHIPFLEX 512 cable has a conductor cross-section of 1 mm² (AWG 18) and contains 12 conductors identified with numbers. The outer diameter of the cable is approximately 12.4 mm. Thanks to its properties, it finds application in:
- Industrial machines and equipment
- Automation systems
- Marine applications
- Robotics
- Where high flexibility and resistance to external factors are required
The cable is metered, making it easy to precisely adjust the length to the installation needs. Remember to properly install the screen – for optimal EMC protection, it is recommended to use a large round clamp at both ends of the copper braid.
