Cable for chain guides – reliability in harsh conditions

This shielded HELUKABEL SHIPFLEX 512 chain cable is a solution designed for demanding industrial applications, especially in marine environments. This cable is distinguished by its high resistance to external factors and ensures safe and uninterrupted power supply in dynamic systems such as robots, conveyors or construction machines. Its construction and materials guarantee long-lasting and trouble-free operation even in extreme conditions.

Construction and properties

The SHIPFLEX 512 cable is characterized by a solid construction. It has 18 copper conductors with a cross-section of 2.5 mm², which provides adequate current carrying capacity. The conductors are stranded, which increases their flexibility and resistance to mechanical fatigue. The screen made of tinned copper wires minimizes electromagnetic interference (EMC), which is crucial in precise automation systems. The whole is surrounded by a durable, halogen-free polyurethane (PUR) coating in gray (RAL 7001), which provides resistance to abrasion, oils, UV radiation and low temperatures – down to -40°C. In addition, the cable meets strict safety standards, including UL Style 20234 and has a CE certificate confirming compliance with the Low Voltage Directive.

Applications and installation

The SHIPFLEX 512 cable is ideal for use in chain guides (cable carriers), industrial robotics, construction machines and all kinds of mobile devices exposed to intense movements and difficult environmental conditions. The minimum bending radius is 7.5x cable diameter (20.3 mm), which should be taken into account during installation. For optimal EMC function, it is recommended to install an earthing clamp at both ends of the cable screen.
