Chain guide cable – reliability in demanding conditions
This shielded HELUKABEL SHIPFLEX 512 chain cable is a solution designed to operate in harsh conditions, especially in applications requiring high mechanical and chemical resistance. The cable is distinguished by a construction that ensures long-lasting and safe operation in chain guide systems, as well as in marine environments. It is a metered cable, which makes it easy to precisely adjust the length to the needs of the installation.
Construction and properties
The cable is characterized by an advanced construction that guarantees its exceptional durability and functionality. Made of multi-strand copper conductors with a cross-section of 0.5 mm², it provides good flexibility and resistance to bending. The conductors are insulated with a special material, and the whole is protected by a shield of tinned copper wires (with the option of an aluminum foil), which minimizes electromagnetic interference. The outer coating made of polyurethane (PUR) provides resistance to abrasion, oils and UV radiation. Additionally, the cable is halogen-free, which increases safety in the event of a fire.
- Shielding: Effectively reduces electromagnetic interference, ensuring stable signal transmission.
- Chemical resistance: The polyurethane outer coating is resistant to the action of oils, chemicals and other aggressive substances.
- Halogen-free: Ensures safe use and minimizes the emission of toxic gases in the event of a fire.
- Flexibility: The multi-strand conductor construction provides high flexibility and facilitates cable routing in tight spaces.
- Mechanical strength: The cable is designed to operate in chain guide systems, where it is exposed to continuous bending and mechanical loads.
- Wide temperature range: Allows operation at temperatures from -40°C to +80°C (flexible and stationary).
Applications and compliance with standards
The SHIPFLEX 512 cable finds application in a wide range of industrial applications, especially where high reliability and resistance to harsh environmental conditions are required:
- Port and marine machinery and equipment
- Industrial automation
- Robotics
- Material transport systems
- Renewable energy (e.g. wind farms)
The cable meets the requirements of the following standards:
- UL Style 20234
- DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2 / DIN EN 60332-1-2 / IEC 60332-1 (flame retardancy)
- DIN VDE 0482 part 267 / DIN EN 50267-2-1 / IEC 60754-1 (halogen-free)
- IEC 60092-350 (oil and low temperature resistance)
- Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE marking)
