Chain guide cable – reliability in harsh conditions
This shielded HELUKABEL SHIPFLEX 512 chain cable is a solution designed for operation in demanding industrial environments, especially where continuous movement and exposure to external factors occur. This cable is characterized by high flexibility, resistance to oils and UV radiation, and also meets safety standards regarding the absence of halogens in the coating. It is an ideal choice for both installers and end-users looking for a reliable and durable solution.
Construction and properties
The SHIPFLEX 512 cable features a solid construction. It has 25 copper conductors with a cross-section of 0.75 mm², which provide good conductivity and flexibility. The conductors are twisted in parallel, which minimizes the risk of damage during bending and movement. A screen made of tinned copper wires protects against electromagnetic interference (EMC), which is particularly important in industrial environments. The outer coating made of polyurethane (PUR) provides resistance to abrasion, oils, UV radiation and low and high temperatures – from -40°C to +80°C. Additionally, the cable is halogen-free, which increases safety in the event of a fire.
Applications and benefits
This cable is primarily used in chain guide systems, but also in machines and equipment exposed to intensive movements and difficult working conditions. It meets the requirements of UL Style 20234, which confirms its high quality and safety. Thanks to its resistance to UV radiation and weather conditions, it can be used both indoors and outdoors. The flexible construction makes installation easier even in tight spaces. It is worth mentioning the compliance with the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE marking).
- Mechanical strength: The cable construction ensures long-term operation even with frequent bending and stretching in chain guides.
- Protection against interference: Shielding minimizes the impact of electromagnetic interference on the signal transmitted through the cable.
- Safety: The halogen-free coating reduces the risk of toxic gas emissions in the event of a fire.
- Chemical resistance: The polyurethane outer coating is resistant to the action of oils and other chemicals.
- Wide temperature range: The cable retains its properties over a wide temperature range, from -40°C to +80°C.
