Chain guide cable – reliability in harsh conditions
This shielded HELUKABEL SHIPFLEX 512 cable is a solution designed for operation in demanding industrial environments, especially in applications with chain guides. The cable is characterized by high flexibility and resistance to external factors, guaranteeing long-lasting and trouble-free operation. It is ideal for where standard cabling fails – in areas exposed to oils, UV radiation, or extreme temperatures.
Construction and properties
The SHIPFLEX 512 cable is characterized by a solid construction. Made of stranded copper conductors with a cross-section of 1 mm², it provides efficient current conduction. The conductors are insulated with a special material, and the entire cable is surrounded by a screen of tinned copper wires, which minimizes electromagnetic interference (EMC). The polyurethane outer jacket (PUR) provides resistance to abrasion, oils and chemicals. Additionally, the cable is halogen-free, which increases safety in the event of a fire.
It is worth paying attention to a few key features:
- Mechanical strength: Class 6 conductors provide high flexibility and resistance to repeated bending – crucial in applications with chain guides.
- Chemical resistance: The PUR coating protects against the action of oils, lubricants and many chemicals.
- Safety: Halogen-free construction minimizes the emission of toxic gases in the event of a fire.
- EMC shielding: Effectively reduces electromagnetic interference, ensuring stable signal transmission.
- Wide temperature range: The cable retains its properties at temperatures from -40°C to +80°C (flexible and stationary).
- UV resistance: Ensures long-term operation even outdoors.
Applications and compliance with standards
The SHIPFLEX 512 cable finds application in a wide range of industrial applications, such as:
- Robotics and automation
- Construction and agricultural machinery
- Marine industry (meets the stringent standards for this sector)
- Internal transport systems
- Applications requiring high resistance to external factors
The cable meets a number of European standards and directives:
- DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2 / DIN EN 60332-1-2 / IEC 60332-1 (flame retardancy)
- DIN VDE 0482 part 267 / DIN EN 50267-2-1 / IEC 60754-1 (halogen-free)
- IEC 60092-350 (oil resistance)
- Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE marking)
This gives you the certainty that the product is safe and complies with applicable regulations. The use of a large copper braid clamp at both ends of the cable further optimizes its EMC functions.
