Chain guide cable – reliability in harsh conditions
This shielded HELUKABEL SHIPFLEX 512 cable is a solution designed for operation in demanding industrial environments, especially in applications with chain guides. The cable is characterized by high flexibility and resistance to external factors, guaranteeing long-lasting and trouble-free operation. It is an ideal choice for both professional installers and end-users who need reliable cabling in dynamic systems.
Construction and properties
The SHIPFLEX 512 cable is made of high-quality materials, ensuring its durability and safety. Four copper cores with a cross-section of 6 mm² (corresponding to approximately AWG10) are insulated with a special material, and the entire cable is surrounded by a screen of tinned copper wires. The outer polyurethane (PUR) coating provides resistance to abrasion, oils and UV radiation. The cable is halogen-free, which increases safety in the event of a fire. It also meets UL Style 20234 standards.
- Durable construction: twisted rope class 6 provides high flexibility and resistance to mechanical fatigue.
- Shielding: protects against electromagnetic interference (EMC), ensuring stable signal transmission.
- Weather resistance: the cable retains its properties over a wide temperature range (from -40°C to +80°C) and is resistant to ozone and UV radiation.
- Safety: the halogen-free coating minimizes the emission of toxic gases in the event of a fire.
- Application in harsh conditions: resistance to oils and other chemicals makes the cable perfect for the shipbuilding industry and other demanding applications.
- Flexibility: the outer diameter of the cable is approximately 15.2 mm, which makes it easier to lay even in tight spaces.
Applications and compliance with standards
The SHIPFLEX 512 cable is primarily used in systems with chain guides, but it will also work in other industrial applications where high flexibility and resistance to external factors are required. It meets a number of safety and quality standards:
- Flame retardancy: DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2 / DIN EN 60332-1-2 / IEC 60332-1
- Halogen-free: DIN VDE 0482 part 267 / DIN EN 50267-2-1 / IEC 60754-1
- Oil resistance: IEC 60092-350 (Annex F)
- Behavior at low temperatures: IEC 60092-350 (Annex E)
- Compliance with the Low Voltage Directive: 2014/35/EU (CE marking)
Thanks to this, you can be sure that the cable meets all the necessary safety and quality requirements. Remember to install the cable correctly according to the manufacturer's instructions – this is particularly important when installing in cable guides. To optimize EMC function, it is recommended to mount a copper braid clamp on both ends of the screen.
