Cable for chain guides – reliability in demanding conditions
This shielded chain cable HELUKABEL SHIPFLEX 512, designed for operation in harsh conditions, is an ideal solution for both professional installers and end users. The cable is characterized by high flexibility and resistance to external factors, making it an excellent choice for applications in the marine, port and anywhere requiring reliability and durability. Made of high-quality materials, it meets strict safety standards and complies with European directives.
Construction and properties
The cable is characterized by a solid construction. Copper conductors, made in accordance with DIN VDE 0295 cl.6, BS 6360 cl.6 and IEC 60228 cl.6 standards, ensure excellent conductivity. Special conductor insulation and a screen of tinned copper wires (approx. 85% coverage) guarantee effective protection against electromagnetic interference and mechanical damage. The polyurethane outer jacket provides resistance to oils, chemicals and extreme temperatures – from -40°C to +80°C (flexibly and stationary). The cable is halogen-free, which increases safety in the event of a fire and minimizes the emission of toxic substances.
Additionally:
- The use of special conductor insulation ensures long-term operation even in difficult environmental conditions.
- The conductors are twisted in parallel to maintain optimal length and facilitate installation.
- Grey color (RAL 7001) makes it easier to identify the cable in the installation.
- The cable is metered, allowing for precise adjustment of the length to the needs of a specific application.
- Radiation resistance up to 100x106 cJ/kg (up to 100 Mrad) means that the cable can be used in specific conditions exposed to ionizing radiation.
Applications and compliance with standards
The HELUKABEL SHIPFLEX 512 cable is primarily used in chain guide systems, but also in other applications requiring high flexibility and resistance to external factors. It is an ideal choice for:
- Port machinery and equipment
- Industrial installations exposed to oils and chemicals
- Automation and robotics systems
- Marine applications
The cable meets the following standards:
- DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2 / DIN EN 60332-1-2 / IEC 60332-1 (flame retardancy)
- DIN VDE 0482 part 267 / DIN EN 50267-2-1 / IEC 60754-1 (halogen-free)
- IEC 60092-350 (oil resistance)
- IEC 60092-350 (behavior at low temperatures)
- Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE marking)
Thanks to this, you can be sure that the cable is safe and reliable in all working conditions. Remember to properly mount the screen using a large round clamp with copper braid at both ends of the cable for optimal EMC functionality.
