Chain guide cable – reliability in demanding conditions
This shielded HELUKABEL SHIPFLEX 512 cable is a solution designed for operation in harsh conditions, especially in applications requiring high flexibility and resistance to external factors. The cable is distinguished by its high quality of workmanship and meets stringent standards, including UL Style 20234. It is ideal for use in marine, port, and machine and equipment industries exposed to oils, chemicals, and UV radiation.
Construction and properties
The SHIPFLEX 512 cable is characterized by a solid construction ensuring long-lasting and reliable operation. It consists of seven copper conductors with a cross-section of 0.75 mm², which are twisted in parallel to maintain optimal flexibility. The conductors are surrounded by a special insulation, and the entire cable is shielded with a braid of tinned copper wires, which provides protection against electromagnetic interference (EMC). The outer jacket made of polyurethane (PUR) guarantees resistance to abrasion, oils, and extreme temperatures. Additionally, the cable is halogen-free, which increases safety in the event of a fire.
Key features of this cable include:
- Mechanical strength: Designed for operation in cable chains, resistant to repeated bending and stretching.
- Chemical resistance: Exhibits high resistance to oils, lubricants and other chemicals.
- Safety: Halogen-free jacket minimizes the emission of toxic gases in the event of a fire.
- EMC protection: Shielding provides reduction of electromagnetic interference, which is important in precision control systems.
- Wide temperature range: Allows operation in both low (-40°C) and high (+80°C) temperatures.
- UV resistance: Ensures long-term operation outdoors without loss of properties.
Applications and compliance with standards
The SHIPFLEX 512 cable finds application in many industries, including:
- Marine: Powering equipment on ships, drilling platforms and ports.
- Industrial: Powering machines and equipment exposed to harsh environmental conditions.
- Automation: Transmission of control signals in industrial automation systems.
- Robotics: Powering robots and manipulators operating in demanding conditions.
The cable meets the following standards:
- UL Style 20234
- DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2 / DIN EN 60332-1-2 / IEC 60332-1 (flame test)
- DIN VDE 0482 part 267 / DIN EN 50267-2-1 / IEC 60754-1 (halogen-free)
- IEC 60092-350 (oil resistance)
- IEC 60092-350 (behavior at low temperatures)
- Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU (CE)
