Chain guide cable – reliability in harsh conditions
This shielded HELUKABEL SHIPFLEX 512 7G1.5/AWG16 cable is a solution designed for operation in demanding industrial environments, particularly in applications with chain guides. The cable is characterized by high flexibility and resistance to external factors, guaranteeing long-lasting and trouble-free operation. Made of high-quality materials, it meets stringent safety standards and is ideal for use in marine areas and other places exposed to oils, chemicals and UV radiation.
Construction and properties
This cable is characterized by a careful construction that ensures optimal electrical and mechanical parameters. Copper strands, made in class 6 (very flexible stranded wire), provide good conductivity and flexibility. The strands are insulated with a special material, and their identification is done using numbers. Twisting of the strands is omitted, which further increases the flexibility of the cable. A screen made of tinned copper wires (with the option of aluminum and foil under the braid) effectively protects against electromagnetic interference. The outer polyurethane coating provides resistance to abrasion, oils and extreme temperatures.
It is worth paying attention to a few key features:
- Halogen-free: Meets DIN VDE 0482 part 267 / DIN EN 50267-2-1 / IEC 60754-1 standards, which means that it does not release toxic gases in the event of a fire. This is important for the safety of personnel and environmental protection.
- Radiation resistance: Withstands exposure to radiation up to 100x106 cJ/kg (up to 100 Mrad), making it suitable for use in the nuclear industry or other areas exposed to ionizing radiation.
- Flexibility: Thanks to the class 6 stranded wire construction, the cable is exceptionally flexible and easy to install even in tight spaces.
- Chemical resistance: Exhibits resistance to oils in accordance with IEC 60092-350, Annex F.
- Wide temperature range: Allows operation in both low temperatures (down to -40°C) and high temperatures (up to +80°C).
Applications and compliance with standards
The HELUKABEL SHIPFLEX 512 cable is primarily used in:
- Machines and equipment operating in harsh industrial conditions
- Chain guide systems
- Marine applications
- Robotics
- Industrial automation
The cable meets the requirements of standards: DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2 / DIN EN 60332-1-2 / IEC 60332-1 (equivalent to DIN VDE 0472 part 804 test method B) and has a CE certificate confirming compliance with the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU. The use of a screen allows for optimization of EMC functions – electromagnetic compatibility; for this purpose, it is recommended to mount a large round clamp with a copper braid at both ends of the screen.
