Chain guide cable – reliability in demanding conditions
This specialized chain cable, designated HELUKABEL MULTIFLEX 512-C-PUR UL/CSA, is designed to operate in extreme conditions requiring high flexibility and resistance to external factors. This cable is used in machines, machine tools, robotics and other moving installations where frequent bending and exposure to mechanical loads occur. It meets UL/CSA standards, guaranteeing its safety and compliance with US and Canadian requirements.
Construction and properties
The cable is characterized by an advanced construction ensuring long-term and reliable operation. Made of twisted copper strands, class 6 flexibility, it provides high flexibility even with frequent bending. The core insulation made of special PP minimizes the risk of mechanical and chemical damage. Additionally, a braided copper wire screen (approx. 85% coverage) effectively protects against electromagnetic interference (EMC), which is crucial in modern control systems. The whole is surrounded by a halogen-free outer jacket made of polyurethane (PUR), which provides resistance to abrasion, oils and UV radiation.
The cable has 18 cores with a cross-section of 0.5 mm², allowing for the transmission of control and power signals. The cores are numbered for easy identification during installation and servicing. A yellow-green protective conductor (available in some versions) further increases safety.
Applications and benefits
This cable is an ideal solution for installers and end-users looking for a reliable solution for use in harsh industrial environments:
- High flexibility: Enables operation in continuous motion without risk of damage to the cables.
- Resistance to external factors: Resistant to oils, greases, UV radiation and low and high temperatures (-40°C to +80°C).
- EMC shielding: Ensures stable signal transmission without interference.
- Halogen-free: Increases fire safety – releases minimal amounts of toxic gases during combustion.
- Long service life: Thanks to the use of high-quality materials and advanced construction, the cable is characterized by a long service life even with intensive use.
- Compliance with standards: Meets UL/CSA standards and Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU, guaranteeing safety and compliance with regulations.
- Wide operating temperature range: Possibility of use in both low and high working temperature environments.
