Cable track conductors for demanding applications
This shielded HELUKABEL MULTIFLEX 512-C-PUR UL/CSA cable track conductor is designed for use in harsh industrial environments where high flexibility, resistance to external factors and protection against electromagnetic interference are required. This cable combines advanced materials and construction, providing reliable operation in bending systems such as robots, machine tools or automated production lines.
Construction and properties
The cable is characterized by a solid construction, using twisted copper strands in accordance with DIN VDE 0295, BS 6360 and IEC 60228 standards. The core insulation is made of special PP, which provides good abrasion and adhesion resistance. The cores are identified with numbers, and the yellow-green protective core (in versions with a protective core) is located on the outside. The whole is surrounded by a special protective braid and a halogen-free inner jacket made of TPE and a braided screen made of copper wires (coverage approx. 85%). The outer polyurethane (PUR) coating provides high resistance to oils, chemicals, UV radiation and mechanical damage.
The cable meets UL/CSA standards and has a rated voltage of 600V and a test voltage of 3000V. It is designed to operate at temperatures from -40°C to +80°C (stationary) and from -30°C to +80°C (flexible). The minimum bending radius is 7.5x cable diameter for flexible operation and 4x cable diameter for stationary operation. The cable has passed bending tests for approx. 10 million cycles, which confirms its high durability in dynamic applications.
Applications and benefits
This cable is ideal for use in machines and equipment requiring high flexibility and resistance to external factors:
- Robotics: Provides reliable connections in moving robot elements.
- Machine tools: Resistant to oils and lubricants used in metalworking.
- Industrial automation: Ideal for use in production lines with frequent movements.
- Transport systems: Works well in applications requiring high mechanical resistance.
- Automotive industry: Used in electrical installations of vehicles.
Thanks to the shielding, the cable minimizes electromagnetic interference, which is particularly important in precision control systems. The halogen-free construction increases fire safety, and the high resistance to UV radiation means that the cable can also be used outdoors. In addition, the materials used in production do not contain silicone or cadmium, making it environmentally friendly.
