Chain guide cables for demanding applications
This specialized chain guide cable, designated HELUKABEL MULTIFLEX 512-C-PUR UL/CSA, is designed to operate in extreme conditions requiring high flexibility, mechanical resistance and protection against interference. This cable is used in machines, machine tools, robotics and other moving industrial installations. It meets UL/CSA standards, guaranteeing its safety and compliance with US and Canadian requirements.
Construction and properties
The cable is characterized by a solid construction ensuring long-term reliability. The multi-wire copper conductors of class 6 (very flexible) are insulated with special PP, which provides good flexibility and abrasion resistance. The conductors are twisted in parallel with an optimal twist pitch to minimize the risk of damage during repeated bending. In addition, the cable has a braided copper screen (approx. 85% coverage) that effectively protects against electromagnetic interference (EMC). The whole is surrounded by a halogen-free outer jacket made of polyurethane (PUR), providing resistance to oils, chemicals and UV radiation.
This cable also has high resistance to weathering, ozone and hydrolysis. The materials used in production do not contain silicone, cadmium or substances hindering painting. The PUR coating is flame retardant according to DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-1-2 / IEC 60332-1 and UL VW-1 and CSA FT1.
User parameters and applications
The cable is designed to operate at temperatures from -40°C to +80°C (stationary) and from -30°C to +80°C (flexible). The rated voltage is 600V, and the test voltage is 3000V. The conductor cross-section is 0.5 mm², and the outer diameter is approximately 9 mm. Thanks to its construction and properties, the cable is ideal for use in moving parts of automatic machines, robotics and other applications requiring high flexibility and resistance to external factors. This is particularly important in industrial environments exposed to intensive operation and changing working conditions.
