Halogen-free control cable – reliability and safety

This flexible control cable JZ-500 HMH is a proposal for professionals and demanding users who need a reliable and safe solution for electrical installations. The cable is designed for a wide range of applications, from mechanical engineering to construction, providing optimal performance and durability. Made of high-quality materials, including halogen-free TI6 and TM7 mixtures, it minimizes the risk of toxic gas formation in the event of a fire.

Construction and properties

The JZ-500 HMH cable consists of 12 copper strands, stranded according to VDE 0295 cl. 5, BS 6360 cl. 5 and IEC 60228 cl. 5 standards. Each strand is insulated with a halogen-free TI6 mixture, and black strands are marked with white numbers for easy identification. Additionally, the cable has a yellow-green protective strand (from 3 strands), which increases safety. Parallel twisted strands are surrounded by a halogen-free outer jacket made of TM7 mixture in gray (RAL 7001). The cable is metered, which makes it easier to precisely adjust the length to the needs of the installation.

It is worth paying attention to a number of tests and certificates confirming its high quality and safety: fire tests (DIN VDE 0482-332-3-24, BS 4066 part 3, DIN EN 60332-3-24, IEC 60332-3-24), self-extinguishing and flame retardancy (DIN VDE 0482-332-1-2, DIN EN 60332-3-24, IEC 60332-3-24), corrosiveness of fire gases (DIN VDE 0482-754-2, DIN EN 60754-2, IEC 60754-2) and halogen-free (DIN VDE 0482-754-1, DIN EN 60754-1, IEC 60754-1). It also meets the requirements of the Low Voltage Directive CE (2014/35/EU).

Technical parameters and scope of applications

The JZ-500 HMH cable is characterized by a rated voltage U of 500 V and a strand cross-section of 0.75 mm². It can be used at temperatures from -15°C to +70°C during installation and from -40°C to +70°C after installation (without vibration). Its approximate outer diameter is about 10 mm. The minimum bending radius is 12.5 x cable diameter for flexible laying and 4 x cable diameter for fixed laying. Radiation resistance is up to 100 x 10⁶ cJ/kg (up to 100 Mrad).

This cable is ideal as a measuring, control and steering cable in mechanical engineering, on conveyors and technological lines, in the construction of installations, and in the metallurgical and steel industries. It can be used for both fixed and mobile installations – however, it is important to remember the limitations regarding mechanical loads and the absence of continuous tension or movement. It will work in dry, wet and humid rooms – also surface-mounted.
