Halogen-free data cable – protection and reliability
This shielded JE-LiHCH Bd cable is a solution designed for demanding installations where protection against interference and fire safety are crucial. The cable is designed for data transmission in industrial electronics, telecommunications systems and measurement applications. Its construction minimizes the risk of fire spreading and the release of toxic gases in the event of a fire, making it an ideal choice for installation in public buildings and places with increased safety requirements.
Construction and application
The cable consists of eight cores (4 pairs) with a cross-section of 0.5 mm², which provide flexibility and ease of installation. The cores are twisted in pairs and then bundled together, which minimizes the risk of interference between them. A copper braid screen effectively protects against electromagnetic interference (EMC), guaranteeing a stable signal transmission. The cable complies with DIN VDE 0815, which confirms its high quality and safety of use.
The cable is used in:
- Internal installations of telecommunications systems
- Industrial electronics
- Measurement technology
- Transmission of control signals
- Public buildings (schools, hospitals, offices)
- Places with increased fire safety requirements
Safety and properties
The use of halogen-free materials in the insulation and outer jacket significantly increases safety in the event of a fire. During combustion, no toxic gases are released that could endanger human health. In addition, the cable meets the standards for low smoke emission and corrosivity of fire gases (tests according to DIN VDE 0482 and BS 4066). This minimizes the risk of damage to the installation and facilitates evacuation in a hazardous situation. It should be remembered that the cable is not intended for high-voltage installations or laying in the ground. Its operating voltage is 225V. Optimal contact of the copper braid with the terminals (e.g. through cable glands) further improves electromagnetic compatibility (EMC).
