Halogen-free data cable, twisted pair, shielded RD-H(St)H 8x2x0.5 mm² grey, color-coded cores 20202
Flexible control cable, shielded, halogen-free is a solution dedicated to the transmission of data and control signals in internal installations. This cable, with a construction of 8x2x0.5, is characterized by high flexibility and resistance to external factors. It is ideal where reliable connections and safety in case of fire are required.
Construction and properties
The cable is made of 16 copper, stranded wires (class 2), twisted in 8 pairs. Each pair is color-coded for easy identification: blue-red, gray-yellow, green-brown and white-black. The wires are insulated with a halogen-free polymer, which ensures safety in case of fire – it limits the emission of toxic gases and smoke. The twisted pairs are arranged in bundles, and the whole is surrounded by an aluminum foil acting as a static screen (St), which protects against electromagnetic interference. The outer jacket is also made of a halogen-free polymer, resistant to flames and mechanical damage. The outer diameter of the cable is approximately 11.6 mm.
Application and benefits
This cable is used in the transmission of data, digital and analog signals (up to a frequency of approx. 10 kHz) and in control systems. Thanks to the shielding, it ensures stable signal transmission even in environments with a high level of interference. The halogen-free coating increases safety, especially in public buildings and places with increased fire safety requirements. This cable can be permanently laid inside buildings – in external installations it requires protection against UV radiation. Thanks to its flexible construction, installation is simple and convenient – the cable is easy to lay even in tight spaces.
The cable is characterized by a wide range of operating temperatures – from -30°C to +70°C in stationary operation and from -5°C to +50°C during flexible operation. It is designed for operation at a maximum voltage of 225 V and should not be used in high-current circuits. The insulation resistance is minimum 100 MOhm x km, which guarantees a high-quality connection. The nominal impedance is 450 Ohm for a 0.5 mm² wire and 320 Ohm for a 1.0 mm² wire. The cable exhibits radiation resistance up to 100x10⁶ cJ/kg (up to 100 Mrad), and the minimum bending radius is approximately 7.5 times its diameter. It meets the requirements of DIN VDE 0815 and has a CE marking confirming compliance with the Low Voltage Directive 2014/35/EU.
